My graphic design background has allowed me to develop a specific vocabulary of line, form and space to guide my creative process.  Many of my pieces are formalized sketches, translated from sketchbook to computer where I explore geometric relationships emphasizing unity, balance, rhythm and proportion. With the lasercutter I convert these designs to objects so that associations and interactions can be further explored and refined in the hand. Patterns of positive and negative space, symmetries created by repetition, and forms influenced by the vocabulary of nature are then assembled, hand-fabricated, and realized as ornament.
